Seems like

everyone’s just trying to find something, anything, to fill that void we all have. But too often it manifests itself in something bad for you. Avoid the void.

You’ve taken advantage of me enough

Every person says they want a true friend to be honest and tell them how it really is, but when it’s right in front of them, they can’t handle that type of honesty.

Time in a friendship means nothing to me, I don’t care how long I’ve known you and been close with you, I’ll leave that when I realize you’ve been wronging me all along. I thought I’d stick around and be a good friend but it’s been nothing but detrimental to me and that’s not fair. I thought it was worth it but no, you’ve taken advantage enough. I disregarded my usual instinct of what kind of person to avoid, but not anymore.

The thin ice you were on just cracked.

You’ve taught me practically nothing but what to not look for in a friend, and for that, I thank you.

The biggest problem was you knowing you could do whatever you want and I’d still be there in the end. It can’t be like that anymore though. It’s been nice. Real nice.

I realized

a lot of people don’t self-reflect, and it’s scary. How do you go through every day oblivious to who you give off the impression of being? Sometimes I feel like I know more about someone than they know about themselves and I never thought that’d be the case

To the lady that told her 5 year old son not to hug me and my friends “because we’re white”

I understand why. I understand why the years of oppression white people bestowed on black people keeps you untrustworthy of us “whites”. That although an ignorant way of thinking, it is out of understandable fear. Fear that me and my friends are too, racists that will try to take advantage. So you tried to keep your safety and distance by justifying it with that reason.

But now your child will subconsciously be racist. And you can’t fight fire with fire. What’s done is done, and what has happened in the past disgusts me just as much as it disgusts you; (and logistically speaking, my ancestors specifically were not the ones that were enslaving innocent people) but I understand.

That doesn’t make it okay though. You can’t beat racism with more racism. The best we can do is educate ourselves to see beyond color and stereotype, otherwise no one will benefit.

It irks me that the first impression people have of us is that we are “white girls”. However, we do redeem ourselves and quickly prove otherwise. We are not white nor girls

I can’t believe

people take anything about zodiac signs and horoscopes seriously. What exactly is the relationship between the alignment of stars that have been interpreted as certain objects and animals by humans, and someone’s personality?

Again, it’s one of those things that pacifies the masses. It keeps the ignorant quiet, letting them believe that there is some higher order keeping society in check. It makes them think they fit into neat little categories based on their birth dates.

I had hoped we’ve advanced technologically and scientifically enough to know that what astrology is a false sentiment, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

We’re not in the age of simplicity anymore; we may have only found out a negligible amount of information about the Earth, but what we do know indefinitely is that it doesn’t work that way.
